Senior Data Analytics Specialist

About the job
As our Senior Data Analytics Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and integrity of our core data platforms. Reporting to the Data Analytics Lead, you’ll work closely with Data Engineering, analysts, product teams, and business stakeholders to support and optimise the databases and data warehouses that underpin both our operational systems and analytical use cases.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on data professional who enjoys working across on‑prem and cloud environments and is passionate about enabling trusted, high‑quality data across the organisation
What you’ll do
- Develop, manage, and maintain on‑prem and cloud‑based databases and data warehouses
- Support the migration, upgrade, and optimisation of data platforms, ensuring data integrity and continuity
- Diagnose and resolve database and data warehouse issues to minimise disruptions
- Design, test, and validate changes across data sources, databases, and warehouses
- Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to support reporting, dashboards, and analytics needs
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
- Support and contribute to data governance practices, including data quality, standards, lineage, and appropriate handling of PII
- Play an active role in supporting the company’s ongoing cloud migration strategy
What you’ll bring
- Strong experience working with on‑prem databases (particularly SQL Server) and cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, S3, Redshift)
- Proven ability installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading SQL Server environments
- Advanced SQL skills, including query optimisation and stored procedures
- Experience with database management practices such as backup, recovery, replication, and performance tuning
- Exposure to cloud ELT tools such as DBT and Matillion
- Experience working within data governance frameworks and improving data quality and trust
- A strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to engage constructively and collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
